Reminiscent of plate of armor covering the neck, throat and chest, Gorget takes its form and name from these historic origins. Either a singular plate or a set of multiple overlapping plates to allow flexibility, the Gorget began as a practical piece of armor. Later worn as a symbol of status, becoming more ornamental by including etching, enameling and gilding.

Inspired by this neck piece, Gorget is a modern remake of this 15th to 18th century armor. Using the most modern technologies available, just as the symbolic pieces, this necklace is 3D printed as only in two parts. Each 740 socket joints are printed in place, leaving the only connectors to the shoulders.
